We believe fostering enriches the lives of both humans and dogs: Fostering...
Frees up kennel space at a shelter for another dog who needs it
Lets you enjoy the companionship of a dog without the long-term commitment of adoption
Gives you the chance to make a positive difference in the life of a dog
Eases the transition from shelter life to forever home
Is a rewarding experience
Allows us to get to know the dog better, which helps us match it with an adopter
Weatherford Wags is looking for dedicated, committed foster care providers to help us make a positive impact in the lives of the dogs in our community. Our foster families must provide:
A safe, clean, and nurturing home environment
A securely fenced yard
Transportation to/from veterinary appointments, meet and greets, adoption locations, and transport sites (as applicable)
Access to fresh food and water
Socialization and training (as appropriate)
Regular exercise and playtime (as appropriate)
Photos, bio, and other necessary information as appropriate for networking
Information regarding health and behavior to our foster liaison
